ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
Our mission is to improve the lives of every student that walks into our dojo. We do this through teaching Martial Arts virtues alongside the diligent study of Kihon (basics), Kata (forms) and Kumite (fighting).

Karate is not a sport related to fighting as so many believe, rather the study of an unarmed combat system that focuses on the development of character through a series of principles and values known as the Bushido Code.
Integrity, Respect, Courage, Honour, Compassion, Honesty, Duty. Through these principles our younger students develop into well adjusted, capable individuals, confident to navigate life’s journey.
Along the way they develop strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, stamina and learn how to utilise their body for effective striking and defensive techniques.

WHAT SETS US APART
TSKFA and therefore Five Dock Dojo truly believe that the #1 principle ‘Never forget that karate begins and ends with respect” should be followed at all times. We also promote strong moral principles, traditional ettiquette and the encouragement of goodwill and harmony among all kareteka.
Dedication is a substantial part of self improvement in life, in karate and we’ve got it in spades at Five Dock Dojo. Our team are talented, committed and passionate - the perfect combination for any club. We’re extremely grateful to Takahashi Shihan, our senior Sensei and students who make all of this possible.

WE ARE WHAT WE REPEATEDLY DO. EXCELLENCE, THEN, IS NOT AN ACT, BUT A HABIT
